Harold Dampier Jr. - Humble, TX
After graduating from South Texas College of Law Houston with a juris doctor including a Top Ten Speaker Award in the Garland Walker Mock Trial Competition, Harold Dampier Jr. found success as a litigator. As a litigator he worked on cases which settled in excess of $250,000,000. Since then he has focused mainly on working in public service. This includes working with the American Bar Association CEELI project in Albania, International Bar Association in London, Advisor and Chief of the Legal System Monitoring Section of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Pristina, Kosovo. This OSCE initiative addressed issues like protecting basic human rights and access to justice, to ensuring judicial independence. Harold Dampier Jr.’s responsibilities with the OSCE included managing dozens of international lawyers and local legal experts to monitor important trials and organize regular inter-institutional round-tables with Judges, Lawyers, Prosecutors, Police, and judicial decision makers, including the the Ministry of Justice.
Harold Dampier Jr. went on to serve multiple chief of party roles with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC), promoting legal education and access to justice in both Pristina, Kosovo, and Dhaka, Bangladesh. For the past year, Mr. Dampier has advised Free Legal Aid Agency operations as a strategic advisor to USAID Justice Matters Activity in Kosovo.
